Company History

The business was originally established in April 1988 when i rented my first premises in Plough Lane and Hereford Mini Specialists was born.

After a long standing relationship with the classic Mini (having rallied a home built Cooper S Mini and later an RS2000 Escort with great success), I specialised in all repairs associated with this true classic marque.

Due to the business outgrowing its Plough Lane premises, in May 1992 it was relocated to its current location at Unit 10 Burcott Business Park.

The company's reputation for good service grew and customers began travelling from all parts of the country. I was now servicing and repairing all makes of vehicles, modern and old, from Sierra Cosworths and the now rare Lancia Delta Integrale, to even older classics such as the MGBs, Austin Healey and Frogeye Sprite, not forgetting the old VW Beetle and Campervan range (having been a previous Hereford Volkshop part time employee )

Further updates to the business were carried out in 1995 when I installed an MOT class 4 testing bay, which was an instant success. Since then I have never looked back.

The business is now known as Hereford Service & Mot Centre Ltd and I still enjoy being involved in all aspects, from answering the phone and speaking with customers to MOT testing, welding, repairs, servicing and engine diagnostics.

A major turning point for the business was in October 2017 when we asked my good friend for 15 years + and well respected Portuguese mechanic 'Kim' to join myself and Diane as a third business partner which he obviously accepted.

Since then the business has grown rapidly.

Kim specialises in Mercedes, BMW & Porsche and I love to tinker with the old classics from 1950 - 90, Mini, MGB & Midget, Jaguar, Austin Healey, Morris and I love the old school Fords from Escorts to Cosworth.

April 2021

We have survived the pandemic, moved to much larger premises in Sept 2020 to Perseverance business park and taken on more staff, from three to now seven in total.

We now have a well presented reception area & office with a huge 6000+ sq ft workshop that incorporates 6 ramps and a new class 4 & 7 MOT bay.

Another speciality of ours is the repair, service & MOT of Business & Contractors' vans and light commercials, with prices tailored to suit your business budget.

This is a one stop shop with everything to hand - tracking, tyres, air con repairs, clutches, gearboxes, welding & bodywork repairs all in house - and you can choose to have your vehicle serviced or repaired using genuine o.e parts at a fraction of the main dealer costs or motor factor parts.
